Its a Boy!

We had our ultrasound on Wednesday afternoon and found out we are having another boy! I really had no clue this time around, but everyone I know who is pregnant right now are all having boys. I thought maybe I was the odd duck who would have a girl. Nope. So where are the girls these boys are going to marry?! Ha!

Emma was SO excited to go to the ultrasound and had been counting down the days.  She of course was hoping for a girl. When the ultrasound tech said it was a boy, Emma was crestfallen. She turned her head and wouldn't look at any of us, all teary eyed. I told her it would keep her my special girl, but that was not what she wanted to hear. :)

Its now been 24 hours and it has sunk in and Emma is no longer upset. She is back to being excited for a baby. Owen on the other hand understands what a baby is, but one in my tummy? That hasn't quite caught on with him.  He really has no clue as to what is about to happen. He will be the one to eventually share a room, and dare we say it, his toys! Oh he won't like that! Ha! But I think once the baby is here, that Owen will do great. :)

And so, I am more than half way through. The baby is healthy and so am I. Blessings to definitely count! Now onto names and preparations. Time moves so quickly, it will be here before you know it! We will anxiously await our new baby boy. :)

I asked Emma to show me how she felt. Fitting. :)

Day at the Lake!

While Shaelynn was here we were invited to a day by the lake! We went with our friends the Normans. Everyone had a blast! Especially the kids!

Shaelynn visits!

After we got home from 4th of July we only had a few days to recoup and it was back to some more visiting. Shaelynn came for a visit! She visited with us for about 5 days and the kids had a blast!

The first day was all giggles and smiles and excitement! But after the 2nd day, the quarrels and squabbles began. :)  We managed to survive! Owen just wanted to be apart of the play and attention. He ran after them and played as best as he knew how.

Laura came down to spend time with Shae too and I managed to get her to cook! Grandma and Grandpa Anderson also came to see Shae. We had a full house!

Shae is getting too big, like all the kids! She is now 5 and going to Kindergarten this year. Where does the time go?

We had a great time playing host to Shae and hope to do it again!

4th of July!

This year we had the pleasure of visiting Phil's parents in North Dakota for the 4th of July weekend. It was a LOOOOONNNNNGGGGG drive and for a while there I thought we'd never get out of Montana! BUT we did eventually make it. hehe. The kids were SO good and slept the night through. Phil and I were up all night doing the drive so by the time our heads hit the pillow that first night, we were out! Ha!

When we got there Emma was so excited to see Nana and Popo and Austin and Danielle's kids. We all visited and had lunch and then headed to the pool. The kids played their hearts out and even Owen got in the pool and enjoyed the fun! Then we went back and got cleaned up and Popo did bbq hamburgers on the grill. We were enjoying a very traditional 4th.

When the sun went down we went out to light our fireworks and IT WAS CRAZY! Never in all my life have I seen a 4th like that! There are no illegal fireworks since there really is nothing to set on fire! People were setting them off from their roofs and every which way you looked huge fireworks were booming in the sky! It was great! Owen didn't think so. He wanted to hide. Finally he just stayed under his blanky on my lap. This actually saved him from all the mosquito bites everyone else got! Poor Emma had quite a few.  When we ran out of fireworks we could have just sat there for hours more watching everyone elses, but we were all so exhausted! So off to bed we went.

The next day we got to see where Nana and Popo work. We drove around and had lunch and enjoyed seeing where they lived. Then we relaxed and had dinner while we all visited some more.

It was a short visit. We had to leave on Saturday night to get back home. Twas another long drive, but it was worth it for the kids to see where Nana and Popo lived and visit with everyone. It was a super fun 4th of July!
